Cervical Kyphosis

KyphosisThe cervical spine, or neck region, naturally has a gentle forward curve known as lordosis. This curvature is essential for proper spinal alignment, weight distribution, and overall neck and upper body health. When this curve is lost or reversed, a condition known as cervical kyphosis, it can lead to significant discomfort and health issues.

At Apex Chiropractic and Wellness, we specialize in addressing cervical kyphosis and restoring the natural curve of the cervical spine to help our patients live better lives.

Loss of cervical curve often results from poor posture, prolonged sitting, or injuries. It can cause symptoms such as neck pain, headaches, muscle tension, and even nerve-related issues. Left untreated, this condition may lead to long-term complications, including spinal degeneration and reduced mobility, not to mention organ dysfunction as nerves energy diminishes with damage to spine.

Our goal is to identify the underlying causes of kyphosis and provide effective, non-invasive chiropractic solutions to restore your spine’s natural alignment using Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP).

Causes of Kyfosis

  • Poor Posture: Prolonged use of phones, tablets, or computers (often referred to as “tech neck”) can strain the cervical spine and alter its natural curve.
  • Injuries or Trauma: Whiplash injuries from car accidents or falls can disrupt the alignment of the cervical spine.
  • Degenerative Conditions: Arthritis, disc degeneration, or spinal stenosis can contribute to changes in the cervical curve.
  • Muscle Imbalances: Weak neck muscles and tight chest muscles can pull the spine out of alignment.
  • Congenital or Structural Issues: In rare cases, congenital conditions or structural deformities can lead to cervical kyphosis.
